This is great! I personally am very happy with how gmail filters spam. And the free TLS encrypted POP3 connection . And the constantly growing storage space, which archives all your emails and yet you don’t have to worry about the free space ever running out. If you noticed, Gmail doesn’t even show the size of emails in it’s web interface, which means that they don’t think users should care about the size of the emails they receive, you don’t need to know the total thickness of the paper of letter that came to your door is do you? The free space indicator has been put out of sight and focus, unlike in most other popular free webmail providers.

This service will be excellent for small businesses, which have a site, but don’t have an in-house system administrator to manage their emailing needs. The users can continue using their email readers and get their mail through POP, but have an additional benefit of having an excellent web interface with ALL the emails they ever got. Also if your mail server and the web server are on the same machine, taking the spam filtering load off your server onto Google will surely be noticable for large volumes of email.

This special beta test lets you give Gmail, Google’s webmail service, to every user at your domain. Gmail for your domain is hosted by Google, so there’s no hardware or software for you to install or maintain.
